諸聖人の日
諸聖人の日は、キリスト教の総本山であるローマのカトリック教会が行う祝日の一つで、カトリック教の聖人や殉教（自分が信じる宗教のために犠牲になる事）した人々を記念する日です。
開催されるのは毎年十一月一日で、日本では「万聖節」（ばんせいせつ）とも呼ばれています。
「諸聖人の日」とは、名前のとおり全ての聖人や殉教者の日であって、決して忘れられた聖人のための日ではありません。
考え方は日本の「お盆」に近く、カトリック教徒の人々は「諸聖人の日」になると御先祖の墓参りをします。
また、カトリックの教えが根強く残っている国では「諸聖人の日」を祝日にするだけでなく、その週を丸ごと休みにする国もあります。
ですが、キリスト教は歴史が古いので幾つのも宗派に別れており、この「諸聖人の日」も宗派によって名前や日付が違っています。
例えば、聖公会では「諸聖徒日」呼ばれたり、プロテストタントでは十一月の第一日曜日で名前は「全聖徒の日」となっており、正教会では「五旬祭」と呼ばれる祭日の後に来る第一日曜日を「衆聖人の主日」として祝っています。
主日（しゅじつ）とは、キリスト教における日曜日の呼び方で、この「衆聖人の主日」は考え方こそ殉教者の記念日ですが、カトリックと違って年ごとに祭日が変化する移動祭日であって、しかも五月か六月に行われるので、「諸聖人の日」とは日付が大きく異なります。

All Saints Day
All Saints Day is one of the holidays performed by the Roman Catholic Church, the head temple of the Christian, and the day to commemorate Catholic saints and people who was martyred (it means to be sacrificed for the sake of their own religion).
It is held every year on 1st November, and it is also referred to as "banseisetsu" in Japan.
All Saints Day is the day of all the saints and martyrs as the name implies and it is not the day for the forgotten saints.
The idea is close to the Japanese Bon Festival. Catholics people visit the tombs of the ancestors on All Saints Day. In addition, the public holiday is not only All Saints Day but also the whole week of All Saints Day in countries where Catholic teachings have persisted.
But Christianity has a long history, which is divided into a number of sects and this All Saints Day has different names and dates depending on the sect.
For example, it is called All Saints' Day in the Episcopal Church, the name is All Saints' Day on the first Sunday of November in Protestant and the coming first Sunday after the national holiday called Shavuot is celebrated as Sunday of All Saints in the Orthodox Church.
The Lord's Day is the name of Sunday in Christianity and this Sunday of All Saints is considered as the anniversary of the martyr, but the national holiday changes every year, unlike the Catholic, and also it is done in June or May, so the date is greatly different from All Saints' Day.
